Welcome to the W1VL Ham Radio Page!  I hope you find it useful.

You will find Ham Links, Call Sign Lookup, and you can find out about ham radio.  Please come back often!!  This page is owned by a guy who remembers building antenna tuners on the back side of an aluminum baking tin and using a neon bulb to tell if the antenna was matched!   (Of course, I wasn't yet a teenager ..)

What is that length? Need to know how long to make that antenna? Try this ...

MHz

= ft. (or inches.)

A little about W1VL (Andy) ....

Present station consists of a Kenwood TS140S for 160-10 meters, Kenwood TM231A for 2 meters, and an ADI AT600 handi-talkie for 2 and 440, as well as the usual myriad of tuners, filters, power supplies ,etc.  Antennas consist of a ladder line fed dipole, R7 vertical, Ringo for 2, and Dual band MFJ mobile.  I now have a real tuner and SWR bridge (hi hi!)

Not a big DX chaser, but you'll find me in the ARRL Sweepstakes each November!
