Nothing is more satisfying than your own programs!

Along with everything else,  I do some programming on the side.  I have worked in BASIC, Turbo Pascal, and most recently Liberty Basic.   This has been a progression from early DOS programming into programming for today's Windows environment. While I am an engineer, I am not a trained programmer, so I have always looked to find programming languages that I could learn on my own and were not so complicated that I would never finish a program.  My most recent discovery is Liberty Basic.  As with any language, you have to give your programming project some thought and understand what you want the program to do before you start.  I find the built in tools and features of Liberty Basic allow you to take these thoughts and put them into a real program without pulling your hair out!

Liberty Basic

Liberty Basic is a shareware language compiler that allows you to easily write programs that will run in a Windows environment.  If you have had any programming experience, it will come easily.  If you've never programmed before there are some great tutorials out there.   Registering the program allows you to take the programs you have written and compile them into programs that will run on any PC without having Liberty Basic present.  There is also an excellent news and message group on Liberty Basic.  You will have to register to gain access, but it's free registration.  It can be found here.

Stay tuned, there are more hints and links coming!
